CBC Masters off to World Championships

Get ready for some exhilarating squash action as CBC Masters players, Warwick Blamey and Mandi Joubert, gear up for the WSF World Masters 2024! This prestigious event, showcasing the skills of squash players aged 35 and above, is set to take place in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, Netherlands, from August 15-22. With over 100 South African players among the 1227 competitors, Warwick and Mandi are ready to raise the South African flag high and make their mark on the international stage.

Warwick, competing in his first World Masters in the Men’s 35-39 age category, is all set to experience the thrill of this global event. Mandi, a seasoned veteran, is making her sixth appearance at the World Masters. She’s previously played in South Africa, the USA, and Poland, and is now seeded 17/32 in the Ladies +60 draw.

The South African squad is packed with talent, featuring top-seeded players in various categories. Keep an eye out for Christo Potgieter (Men’s +35), Lizelle Muller (Ladies’ +35), Karen Blom and Siyoli Waters (Ladies’ +40), Samantha Herbert and Karen Schultz (Ladies’ +45), Zuko Kubukeli and Adrian Hansen (Men’s +50), Michael Tootill (Men’s +55), Pierr Roodt (Men’s +65), Johnny Orsmond (Men’s +70), and Margaret Hunt-Kemp (Ladies’ +75). These stars are all ranked within the top four of their respective pools, promising some fierce competition and high stakes.
